Vulcan® Drying Systems personnel commissioned a plant for a client in Louisiana who plans to remediate tank bottoms collected from refineries. The TDU's effort is aimed to reduce landfilling of refinery-based waste and recycle valuable hydrocarbons. Control technology was designed around EPA standards to ensure no negative environmental impacts are incurred from running the system.

The system was designed to process 15 TPH of oil-based drilling muds. The system uses natural gas fired burners.
