Thermal Desorption Unit (Drill Cuttings, 2 TPH)

Location: Port Harcourt, Nigeria

Vulcan® Drying Systems personnel reconditioned and commissioned a plant for a client in Nigeria to remediate drill cuttings in a Vulcan Thermal Desorption Unit and Vapor Recovery System. The TDU's effort aims to reduce landfilling of drill cuttings and recycle diesel/oil based drilling fluids. The system was built around budgetary constraints of the customer, using reconditioned components primarily centered around a Metso Holo-Flite screw processor using hot oil as the heat transfer medium.

The system was designed to process 2 TPH of drill cuttings with oil-based drilling muds. The system uses No. 2 fuel oil fired burners.
