Description
The Vulcan® Drying Systems Mineral Drying System is custom-designed and manufactured to suit the customer's individual project needs. These drying systems consist of a rotary drum with a burner. The burner is mounted to a breeching. Vulcan® Drying Systems Mineral Drying Systems are designed specifically to dry a large variety of minerals, making the material easy to transport, store and handle.
Specifications
Each Vulcan® Drying Systems Mineral Drying System is custom-built for the client. Systems consist of the following components:
- Rotary Dryer: carbon or stainless steel kiln with flights and discharge chutes; includes drive mechanism with four (4) heavy duty trunnions;
- Burner and Blower
- Cyclone and/or Baghouse
Mineral Drying Process
Mineral is fed into the rotary dryer. After passing through the dryer, the dried material is discharged to a transfer conveyor for further sorting and separation. The vapor from the process is pulled through a cyclone and/or baghouse that is specifically designed to deal with the fine dust to removes fine particulates from the vapor stream.
System Process Flow
Minerals to be dried are delivered by the feed hopper 1 and a feed conveyor 2. The auxiliary blower 3 augments air for the burner 4, which delivers hot gases into the combustion chamber 5. This super-hot air will vaporize the moisture in the materials without the flame contacting it. Flights in the rotary drum 6 move the dried product through the drum where it exits through the knockout box 7 and is discharged from the flap gate 8. The vapor continues to the cyclone 9 for dust collection before being discharged through the exhaust stack 10.
